Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explains GTA 6’s long wait

GTA 5 was released in 2013 which means it has been almost a decade old. GTA 6 was rumored for several years and seemingly will be launched shortly. Recently, there have also been several leaks resurfacing on the Internet and it has caught fans’ attention. Despite the fact that there were several updates and re-releases, the new GTA game remains unseen and unknown. It could have been a disappointment to fans who have been waiting for a sequel. What has been happening to GTA 6 and when will we finally see it on sale? Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has recently explained these questions in the latest announcement. 

"If you have to choose, I'd much rather have the situation we're in, which is (that) we've had some delays and we've had to revise down guidance," he said. He also emphasized the importance of the game’s quality over a flop which is prepared quickly. “In the past we've had delays in titles, and it was ultimately always worth waiting for, because when we got to the other side, the results were delivered and the small amount of time delay didn't ultimately matter in the context of the results we were able to deliver,” the CEO continued. 

Even though he did not directly mention the game’s title, it’s obvious that he was referring to it. The loyal fans have been waiting for several years and they are losing their patience at this point. However, the longer the waiting, the sweeter the result. It won’t bother players and fans as long as GTA 6 is well made and satisfying to play and enjoy every moment. Currently, GTA Online is still doing well and making revenue for Rockstar Games and Take-Two with several updates. Recently, GTA 5 has also sold more than 170 million copies worldwide. Notwithstanding, Grand Theft Auto is still a huge, successful game series. Investors of the studio might be seeing the potential in the sequel. 

Previously, the details and photos from the unfinished GTA 6 were leaked to the Internet. They have resurfaced and excited all the anticipators for the upcoming game. Definitely, the game is still under progress and will not arrive anytime soon. Hopefully, it will be a worth-playing, satisfying and spectacular action-adventure game as the remaining versions. GTA 6 is believed to have a larger map, new characters and a variety of new weapons and vehicles.
